Phil and Kirstie’s perfect Christmas and their perfect kitchen

08.12.2010

This week, our favourite property gurus, Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer, have been showing us how to make the most of Christmas festivities and top tips for different types of parties. We have been glued to this show Channel 4 and will certainly use some of the ideas for our Christmas parties this year.

A fab tip was to use children’s buckets for sandcastles to make really impressive jellies in.

Kirstie is one of our favourite presenters as we worked with her last year on her Home Made Home show to supply her with an Urban Lineaire kitchen. This is one of our most popular ranges as the sleek gloss design goes well in all styles of homes. Kirstie had a traditional aga cooker and a country farmhouse style for the rest of the kitchen but the units fitted in perfectly with this and added an edge to the design.

Handleless designs will continue to be popular in 2011 and white and cream units show no sign of waning in popularity so this would be a great style to invest in and look great for years to come.

We will be tuning in to Channel 4 again tonight to catch the next episode.. Let us know what you think

Opt for a streamlined look like Kirstie Allsop

11.08.2009

Streamlined kitchens are big news in kitchen design at the moment. Influenced by minimalist European trends, the cutting edge style gives a refreshingly simple yet striking look.

Handless, sleek looking designs can instantly update the kitchen to give it a contemporary feel, or can be contrasted with a country style look.

And that’s what property guru Kirstie Allsop did when she chose the Urban Lineaire kitchen from Magnet for her Channel 4 show, Kirstie’s Homemade Home.

The inspiration for this kitchen came from Cath Kidston’s home as she also has a sleek, white kitchen and uses this as a blank canvas to put a stamp on the room through the rest of the decoration. Kirstie contrasted the modern kitchen with the pretty, rustic wooden worktops and floral designs.

But if you love the pure, contemporary look, then the Urban Lineaire looks great styled with the quartz stone sparkly blue worktop and the latest appliances. The kitchen is also availiable with curves for a softer feel.
