The Great British Bake Off is one of the most patriotic of all baking shows and it is certainly heating up in the baking tent.
With just one week until we reach the final, the contestants are battling away to be crowned the Best Amateur Baker for 2012 – but who is the winner in your eyes?
We have watched the contestants take part in a bake-off which has tested every aspect of their baking skills, and we have seen them bake all sorts of treats from tartes tatin, plaited loaf and rum babas, to meringue and a biscuit quarter-final.
The contestants have been travelling up and down the country, visiting local baking landmarks, and showcasing the history of British baking, and this series is bound to have brought out the culinary skills of fellow bakers.
We all know baking is a big business, with sales of cake stands up 243% at one of the leading supermarkets and five million viewers regularly tuning in to watch the Bake Off on a Tuesday night.
